Liverpool accept bid for 6 ft 4 gem to leave Anfield in out of window move

da pinnacle: Liverpool have reportedly reached an agreement to allow a 22-year-old to leave Anfield outside of the transfer window.

Alexander-Arnold agrees Liverpool exit as Carragher urges Reds to make six signings

da aviator aposta: It has been an eventful few days behind the scenes at Anfield, with Trent Alexander-Arnold edging closer to a move to Real Madrid when his Reds contract expires in the summer.

An agreement has reportedly been reached and a move to the Bernabeu is “99% done”, with Jeremie Frimpong the rumoured top target to come in to replace the right-back from Bayer Leverkusen. Arne Slot appears to be driving the move and has held talks with Frimpong’s representatives.

It promises to be an active summer window for Liverpool, and Jamie Carragher wants to see up to six players signed over the coming months, with a replacement for Alexander-Arnold on the to-do list.

“I’m excited to see where Arne Slot will take Liverpool because it looks like they’re going to win the league, but there are still so many areas to improve. He needs a centre-back as back-up to the two that we have, he’ll need a right-back with Trent Alexander-Arnold likely to leave.

“I think he needs a centre midfielder to replace Endo, someone younger and that he trusts, a centre-forward to play and a left-winger. There are at least five or six players he needs to get in – three to go straight in the team and three to be strong back-ups.”

Alexander-Arnold isn’t the only player who could leave for nothing, with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah’s futures yet to be resolved either.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are happy to loan out forward Federico Chiesa ahead of the 2025/26 season, however, the Reds have already agreed to loan out one youngster in an out-of-window transfer.

Liverpool agree deal to loan out 6ft 4 gem until summer

According to reports in Sweden, relayed by Sport Witness, Liverpool have reached an agreement with Utsiktens BK for Jakub Ojrzynski. The update states that the 22-year-old goalkeeper will be loaned out to the Swedish side until the summer.

Ojrzynski, who stands at 6 foot 4, made the move to Merseyside from Legia Warsaw back in 2019 but is yet to make a senior appearance for the Reds.

In recent years, the Polish youth international has been on loan with Caernarfon Town, Radomiak Radom and Den Bosch and was supposed to join Cypriot second-tier side Spartakos Kitiou last summer.

However, a transfer fell through and Ojrzynski remained with the Reds, where he has since trained with Slot’s first team. Now, though, it looks as if he’ll get the chance to play first-team football in Sweden over the coming weeks, with Liverpool accepting the loan offer presented by Utsiktens BK.

'Bonkers' $475m Wrexham valuation reflects ‘Disneyification’ under Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney as new investors eyed at Racecourse Ground

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have been told that a $475m (£352m) valuation of Wrexham is “bonkers” and reflects the “Disneyification” of the club.

More money will be required in order to reach the Premier League Promised Land, with the door being left open for more investors to enjoy a remarkable sporting adventure – one that is being played out in front of the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary cameras.

DID YOU KNOW?

It has been suggested that Wrexham have now reached the £350m mark when it comes to market value, given the success that they have been enjoying on and off the pitch, but a sports finance expert is not convinced that Reynolds and McElhenney are at that point just yet.

Getty Images EntertainmentWHAT SPORTS FINANCE EXPERT SAID

Dr Rob Wilson has told : “It’s bonkers, it's just a massive valuation and reflects the Disneyification of Wrexham. So, it reflects their kind of a blend, let's say, of their asset base, their projected earnings, their projected media exposure based on what they've been able to get the kind of Disney Plus series, the global following, the kind of promotion boost that they will have achieved, really helps just amplify it.

“But that valuation is nuts. But then football as a product is nuts sometimes. If people want to be involved in that story then it's a great way of raising an additional bit of capital. It's a great way of accelerating your team progression. My eyebrows went up a couple of times and I keep seeing people commenting on the same posts that I see on social media and I'm like this is still nuts.

“But they are running a very smart business operation behind the scenes. Which is naturally amplified because of the ownership. I don't know what the ceiling is but a club valuation four times that of Sheffield United is really optimistic.”

Roach on Gabba bail drama: 'Would have been a different game at 70 for 6'

Alex Carey was the beneficiary when Shamar Joseph breached his defences only for a spinning bail to remain on its groove

Andrew McGlashan26-Jan-20241:57

Gabba Test, Day 2: Australia climb out of a hole

Do West Indies believe they can win? For a little while, as they cut through Australia’s top order in double quick time at the Gabba, it was just possible for the mind to drift back to the past. The quicks roaring in, a line of five slips stood well back and the ball climbing through past the edges, shoulders and heads of the batters, plenty of whom were soon in the dressing room.Steven Smith missed one that nipped back, Marnus Labuschagne fended into the cordon and was brilliantly held by debutant Kevin Sinclair, who had already scored his maiden Test fifty, Cameron Green drove to mid-off and Travis Head glanced down the leg side first ball. Australia went to dinner on 24 for 4. A short while later Mitchell Marsh’s brief counterattack ended with a miscued pull to mid-on.Then Alex Carey’s off bail refused to drop. The ball from Shamar Joseph nipped past the inside edge and there was an appeal for caught behind because of the sound. West Indies didn’t review. The replay showed the zing bail spinning in its groove. clocked the ball was travelling at 115kph. Carey was on 8 and had the bail fallen they would have been 72 for 6.Related

Khawaja, Carey, Cummins rescue Australia from 54 for 5

“We only saw it on TV inside. No one knew,” Kemar Roach said. “There was a noise, but everyone thought it was the pad. Sometimes you need some luck and it didn’t go for us today. Would have been a different game, I think, at 70 for 6.”At the end of the over Carey was on 10 off 15 balls; in another 23 deliveries he had brought up his half-century and the mood was changing. When he flicked to deep square leg and Mitchell Starc soon followed, the deficit was still 150. Yet before the close Pat Cummins, having flayed his career-best, felt confident enough to declare behind and have a crack at West Indies’ top with the new ball under lights.Alex Carey raced to his half-century in 38 balls•Cricket Australia/Getty Images

“I didn’t go out there with that [his scoring rate] in mind,” Carey said. “I felt like I reacted pretty well to what was bowled at me and had good intent. Think we’ve seen that this summer with Mitch Marsh and Travis Head, they play that way. Would have been nice to get a few more but to be where we are after a difficult start, we are certainly in this game of cricket.”Having made the major inroads, the West Indies were in a position rarely seen for visiting sides in Australia. Pakistan had a taste of it at the MCG when they had the home side 16 for 4, but Australia had taken a first-innings lead on that occasion. There was a realistic chance West Indies could earn a decisive advantage but, after Carey’s moment of fortune, they couldn’t stem the run rate. It finished as Australia’s fourth-quickest 250-plus total in Tests – two of those above it were in the second innings to set a target and the other back in 1902.”We knew that the wicket gets better after the new ball disappears so we knew it would be hard work and Australia bat deep,” Roach said. “We haven’t won [in Australia] in a long time. We don’t really come here too often, but guys really want to come here and leave a mark. To win a Test match in Australia as a young side with a lot of debutants and guys who have played less than ten Tests, that would set a really good mark for us.”Until the dying moments of the day it appeared West Indies’ openers would get through a nasty 35 minutes unscathed after Smith spilled a chance at second slip. Then Tagenarine Chanderpaul was given out caught behind on review to the smallest of spikes. West Indies lead by 35. Do they believe?

> Veja classificação e simulador do Paulistão-2023 clicando aqui

Hoje, é o time a ser batido, logo, é o time que todos vão esperar o melhor, sempre.

Berta awaiting £20m player's decision to join Arsenal after January talks

Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is currently waiting to find out a player’s feelings about joining the club this summer, following Gunners talks with him in January, and it is even believed he visited the Emirates Stadium that month.

Arsenal urged to sign new midfielder amid Berta arrival

The Italian has a few key tasks on his agenda following his official appointment last weekend.

As per GiveMeSport, Berta and the Arsenal recruitment team could splash up to £300 million on seven new arrivals, including a new “second-choice goalkeeper, left-back, defensive midfielder, left-winger and striker”, with the north Londoners also pondering an alternative for Bukayo Saka.

While supporters will be eager to see Berta finally bring the club’s long wait for a prolific striker to an end, the need for a centre-midfielder will be prevalent, as Mikel Arteta is set to be minus two solid options in the middle of the park.

Thomas Partey and Jorginho will leave upon the expiry of their contracts on June 30th as things stand, leading to Arsenal’s talks over a deal for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.

The Spain international is apparently “very likely” to join Arsenal and is “almost definitely” happening, according to Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth, with talkSPORT pundit Darren Bent suggesting that it is imperative for Berta to reinforce Arteta’s engine room.

“Another midfielder, a holding midfielder,” said Bent when asked what Arsenal need most this summer.

“I love Thomas Partey, I think this season his form has been brilliant but you have to look long term. There’s talk about Zubimendi, I have reservations. I know he’s a good player.

“I thought he was brilliant in the second half of the Euros final when he came on for Rodri but the Premier League is a different animal. You have to be able to run, be strong, get your foot in. But that’s an area I’d look at as well.”

There are suggestions that Arsenal could move for Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes as well as Zubimendi, with the Brazilian’s contract also including a release clause.

Another midfield technician they’ve been seriously interested in, with talks already held, is Rosenborg sensation Sverre Nypan.

Andrea Berta waiting on Sverre Nypan decision to join Arsenal

As per GiveMeSport and reliable journalist Ben Jacobs, Berta is waiting for Nypan’s final decision on potentially joining Arsenal.

The Norwegian, rumoured to command a price tag of £20 million, visited the Emirates in January and reliable news outlets at the time reported that Arteta’s side held winter talks with Rosenborg over a deal.

The teenager bagged eight goals and 10 assists in all competitions across the 2024 campaign for Rosenborg, even drawing comparisons with Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, but he has many other suitors – including Man City (Fabrizio Romano).

“Sverre Nypan is extremely exciting,” said Norwegian pundit Jesper Mathisen to TV2 last year.

“I get a bit of the same feeling as when I saw Martin Ødegaard break through as a boy.”

England hurting but Root backs them 'every day over the Australians'

Saturday’s clash a chance to “do what I expect of myself and what the team expects of me”

Matt Roller02-Nov-2023Joe Root says he is hurt by the fact that England are propping up the group-stage table of the World Cup after five defeats in six games. But he still believes that they are capable of beating Australia on Saturday in Ahmedabad, and said on Thursday: “Man for man I’d have this team every day over the Australians.”Somehow, England are still mathematically in contention for the semi-finals but their group-stage elimination could be confirmed once and for all if they suffer a sixth defeat against their Ashes rivals this weekend. Root said England would have to view the game as “our World Cup final” as they look to restore some pride – and to qualify for the 2025 Champions Trophy.”I look at this team and it’s more than capable of achieving way more than it has done throughout this tournament,” Root said. “The quality of players we have, we should be sat right at the top of this [table]. We all know that, and we’re all very frustrated that isn’t the case.”This group of players have three opportunities to […] play at the level we expect of ourselves: I fully believe we are more than capable of doing that on Saturday. Man for man, I’d have this team every day over the Australians. We might not have played as well as we can do but we know when we play our best stuff, the best teams struggle to compete with us.”We have to remember that and take that into the next couple of days: both in physical practice and mentally, [we have to] make sure we’re in that frame of mind to take on Australia, which is what it’s about for us now. We’ve just got to look at Saturday as our World Cup final and play in the manner that’s expected of us and we expect of ourselves.”Related

Morgan says England head coach aspirations 'far-fetched'

Australia have enjoyed England’s plight from afar, though Marnus Labuschagne said on Wednesday that they see them as a “dangerous” team. Root was asked specifically about how he felt when he saw Pat Cummins, Australia’s captain, stifling his laughter during a press conference when questioned about England’s struggles.”Let’s face it: if it was the other way around, would we be doing the same? Probably,” Root said. “It hurts – it always hurts to be in this position to be sat at the bottom of the table. It’s not what we expect of ourselves. If it motivates us a little bit more, then great.”Root’s own form has collapsed in the last three weeks: he started the World Cup with scores of 77 and 82 against New Zealand and Bangladesh, but has recorded scores of 11, 3, 2 and 0 in his last four matches. While he is unlikely to lose his place on Saturday, his returns have been well below the level he would expect of himself.”I feel really good in my game,” he insisted. “It’s been really frustrating: I’ve had a silly run-out [against Sri Lanka], a caught leg slip [against South Africa] which is pretty unusual in this format, and – I’ll be careful how I say this – a dubious lbw decision in the last game [against India].”That’s sometimes how it goes. It’s been really disappointing to not be more consistent: that’s what I expect of myself. I looked at the situation against India on that wicket and thought it was laid out perfectly for me to go and win us that game, start turning our bad run of games around.”Saturday is another opportunity to go and score runs, do what I expect of myself and what the team expects of me.”

"Incredible" £10m star who Leeds "really like" now open to move this summer

An “incredible” £10m defender who Leeds United “really like” could be open to a move to Elland Road this summer on one condition, according to reliable reporter Ben Jacobs.

Leeds planning to strengthen in the summer

After Monday night’s 3-1 win against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, Leeds are in a fantastic position to achieve promotion to the Premier League after a two-year hiatus.

However, manager Daniel Farke will be well aware of the jump in quality between the Championship and the top tier, given his time with Norwich City, so some summer additions will definitely be needed if the Whites are to avoid relegation next season.

Farke has been looking at potential new signings in attacking areas, with winger Manor Solomon potentially in line to make his stay permanent, while there is also interest in Celtic forward Nicolas Kuhn and AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham.

"Unplayable" Leeds summer target is now available for between £10m and £15m

Leeds are keen on signing the forward in the summer and their chances of doing so have just been boosted.

Leeds are seemingly keen to strengthen at the opposite end of the pitch too, however, with Jacobs recently telling GiveMeSport the Championship promotion hopefuls remain keen on a summer move for Borussia Monchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi.

Jacobs said: “Leeds really like Nico Elvedi, and he was a name that we exclusively revealed Leeds were tracking. I think Wolves and Brentford have also discussed him as well, and the player is open to a move.

“But if that [move] is to England, he believes he’s of the standard and wants to play in the Premier League. So nothing was really possible for Leeds and Elvedi in January, not without a u-turn in the player’s position.”

Leeds should stand good chance of signing Elvedi

It seems like a deal for Elvedi will be dependent on whether the Whites achieve their aim of promotion, and they are now in a fantastic position to do so as champions, moving five points clear of the Blades after Monday’s encounter.

There are signs the Monchengladbach defender would be a solid signing, too, having been lauded for his “incredible composure” during his time with the Bundesliga club, and he ranks highly across some key defensive metrics over the past year.

Borussia Moenchengladbach'sNicoElvedicelebrates scoring

The 28-year-old places in the 93rd percentile for clearances per 90, and the 80th percentile for interceptions, when compared to his positional peers, having received regular game time during that period, with the vast majority of absences being due to injury.

Elvedi has a plethora of experience in the Bundesliga, making 276 appearances in the competition, while he has also featured in the Champions League 15 times, so there is every indication he would be a good signing for Leeds, and he may be available for just £10m.

Man City ready to accept bid for £300k-p/w star who's fed up at the Etihad

Manchester City are now ready to accept offers for a £300,000-per-week player, who has become unhappy with his role at the Etihad Stadium, according to a report.

Man City could lose a number of stars this summer

Although Man City are still in contention for the Champions League, there has been a serious drop-off this season, and their hopes of qualifying for Europe’s elite competition were dealt a blow in the 1-0 loss against Nottingham Forest last time out.

It could be very much the end of an era for Pep Guardiola’s side, with Kyle Walker already leaving on loan to AC Milan, while Kevin De Bruyne and İlkay Gündoğan are set to be out of contract at the end of the campaign, leaving doubt over their futures.

As such, Guardiola will be tasked with rebuilding his squad in the summer, and there could be some more departures, with a report claiming Bernardo Silva has agreed terms with Paris Saint-Germain, and now another player involved in the historic treble-winning 2022/23 campaign could be shown the exit door.

Man City send scouts to watch 21-year-old midfielder compared to Bellingham

He’s been superb this season when not injured.

ByBarney Lane Mar 10, 2025

According to Football Insider, Man City are now ready to accept offers for winger Jack Grealish, who moved to the Etihad Stadium for £100m back in 2021.

Grealish remains contracted until the summer of 2027, but he is said to be unhappy with his role in the squad, which could lead to a premature departure.

Manchester City's JackGrealishbefore the match

The Sky Blues have dropped their asking price for the winger, who they are now happy to let leave, and they are willing to accept a bid if their demands are met, although it is unclear what sort of fee they would be looking to receive.

Time up for Grealish at the Etihad

The 29-year-old will never be forgotten for the part he played in the treble-winning campaign, but it is probably best for all parties if he moves on this summer, given that he has fallen down the pecking order considerably this season.

The former Aston Villa man hasn’t started a Premier League match in the entirety of 2025, having been ineffectual whenever he was provided with opportunities in the team earlier in the campaign, picking up just one assist in 16 appearances.

Of course, on his day the £300k-per-week winger is still capable of conjuring up magic, scoring against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, while he also received high praise for some of his play in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal back in September.

However, Grealish has arguably become far too inconsistent to justify his £100m price tag and huge wages, so it is a wise decision for City to accept offers in the summer, as Guardiola looks to continue the rebuild required to turn his side back into title contenders.

Kohli and wife Anushka Sharma welcome their second child on February 15

He had opted out of the ongoing Tests against England due to personal reasons

ESPNcricinfo staff20-Feb-2024After missing the ongoing Test series against England for personal reasons, Virat Kohli has revealed that his wife Anushka Sharma has given birth to their second child. Kohli mentioned in an Instagram post that their son, whom the pair have named Akaay, was born on February 15.Kohli, who had been in Hyderabad ahead of the first Test of the ongoing series against England, left to be with his family and eventually expressed his unavailability for the entire series. Initially, he had made himself unavailable only for the first two games. India, who lead the five-match series 2-1, announced their squad for the final three Tests just over a week ago.

When Kohli and Anushka were due to have their first child, he had pulled out of the last three of the four Tests on the tour of Australia in 2020-21.
